On arrival at Kigali airport, you will be met by your driver-guide who will assist with the transfer to your hotel for the night.
Day 2: Kigali to Volcanoes
This morning after breakfast, you will have a city tour which will include a visit to Genocide Memorial Centre; as an outsider, it is almost impossible to understand the true scope of what really happened here in 1994. Your visit to the centre will help bring some of the tragedy to light as you learn about individual stories of losing family and friends while at the same time learning about the efforts of Rwandans to heal and carry on as one people.
Afterwards, depart for Volcanoes National Park. On arrival, a late lunch will be served in the main lodge, with its scenic vistas of the Virunga Volcanoes, of the Parc National des Volcans. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Approximate driving time: 2 1/2 hours
Day 3: Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, served at the lodge, depart by road to the Parc National des Volcans headquarters. Here you will be given a safety briefing. You will then be taken by vehicle to the starting point for your guided trek to one of the habituated Mountain Gorilla families. The amount of time spent walking is dependant upon which family of Gorillas you are allocated and where they are to be found on that day. Once the family is sighted you will spend one hour with the Gorilla family. After this phenomenal wildlife experience, return to your vehicle on the edge of the forest, returning to your accommodation for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4: Volcanoes to Kigali
This morning after breakfast depart for Kigali. Transfer to the airport for your flight back home. Included meals: Breakfast
